About Elite Throws Coaching
What is Elite Throws Coaching?
Elite Throws Coaching started completely by accident...really! Coach Matt Ellis opened Primal Athlete Training Center in Cranston, RI back in July of 2010. In order to promote the gym, Coach Matt offered a free track and field throws clinic during that indoor season. The way Coach Matt advertised the free throws clinic was with three free YouTube videos explainig the shot put power position. These videos were shared all over social media to local coaches and athletes.
The throws clinic was a success. Close to 30 athletes showed up and had a great day learning more about glide shot put. Later that week, Coach Matt noticed there were comments under the free YouTube videos from athletes and coaches from all around the world. These athletes and coaches needed more help understanding the throwing events.
When Primal was quiet and Coach Matt had some free time, he would answer these YouTube comments with more free videos. Sometimes he would post 2-3 videos a week answering questions from athletes and coaches about the throwing events, training, conditioning, and even the psychology of throwers! No topic was off-limits. If viewers had questions, they were answered in a future videos.
Today the Elite Throws Coaching YouTube channel has evolved into the Elite Throws Coaching brand. Elite Throws Coaching now has downloadable ebooks, downloadable how to throw DVDs, video analysis packages, an online team, long distance coaching, an online store to buy throwing equipment, as well as camps and clinics that are held all over the country.
